Bank of Nova Scotia building on OReilly in Havana

Today Canada’s Bank of Nova Scotia, now ScotiaBank, is active throughout the Caribbean. It was the first of Canada’s bank to establish branches in the Caribbean and built this stunning building in Old Havana at the corner of  O’Reilly and Cuba streets. The building was sold to a local bank so while BNS no longer has a branch in Cuba, the beautiful structure remains as a reminder of when it did.
