Canadian artist and sculptor Michale Payeur has the delightful habit of sending a fortunate group of recipients a daily sketch. When he recently visited Havana, he produced a new sketch every day and shared it with the list. With Michale’s permission, we can share a few of these with our VisitCuba.com audience.
Michale was born in Ottawa and attended the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) in Toronto. He showed his art and sculpture across Canada including Hamilton Place, Queens University, the Koffler Centre for the Arts and many private galleries before traveling to Europe for a sabbatical. For several years he lived in a small village in Provence, France where he enjoyed an intimacy with the European art scene.
In Europe, Michale has showed his work in The Hague, Netherlands and other European venues as well as in his native Canada. He currently splits his time between travel and his home studio near Collingwood, Ontario.
These sketches were completed during the late autumn in Cuba.
