Cuba Travel Services, a US authorized carrier service provider with offices in California and Florida, is offering direct flights from New York’s JFK Airport to Havana, Cuba. Cuba Travel Services previously only operated flights originating in Florida operated by American Airlines and Sun Country Airlines to several Cuban destinations including Havana, Cienfuegos, Camaguey, Santa Clara, Holguin and Santiago de Cuba. Previously, authorized passengers from the New Jersey/New York areas experience connection delays, additional baggage fees and extra domestic ticket costs when connecting to Cuba through Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Tampa.
Although Cuba Travel Services’ initial request to operate flights to Havana from Newark Liberty International Airport was denied by local airport authorities, the JFK airport is easily accessible from New Jersey. This new market features one of the largest Cuban American populations in the United States, second only to Florida.
Flight Information: The new flights to Havana will be arranged by Cuba Travel Services and operated by Sun Country Airlines which will utilize next generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft with first and coach class configuration. Round-trip tickets on the inaugural flight only start at $849.00.
Cuba Travel Services Inc. arranges daily, non-stop public charter flights between the United States and Cuba and is licensed by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as an authorized Carrier Service Provider specializing in travel to Cuba. They offer full service travel arrangements to individuals, groups, families, educators, students, professionals and organizations, under Specific or General Licenses issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
