Small band formed by young musicians from Sancti-Spíritus that formerly played jazz. Nowadays, the band plays almost all genres of Cuban music, son, timba, ballads, boleros, salsa among others. Papucho, its director, represents the young soul of the band.

Autodidact Songwriter and signer that integrated the rumba from the street and the one he learnt at the school in order to create his own style. He is the director of this popular timba band.

Band from Santiago that was called “Conjunto Sur Caribe” before 1987, year in which the maestro Ricardo Leyva Caballero took over the direction of the orchestra, and the band began to be identified as: Ricardo Leyva and Sur Caribe. Because of their particular style of defending popular Cuban, Caribbean and Latin American genres in a short time, these talented musicians gained recognition.

KARAMBA is a band born in Havana in 2003. They are in the preference of the Cuban young people. They have released 3 albums: Déjame volar (2003), Mírame (2006) and De ida y vuelta (2009). From the very beginning they have made tours in Cuba, Mexico, France and Spain, giving concerts in different festivals.

MUSIC: “EL NIÑO Y LA VERDAD”

A band founded in 2013 by Emilio Frías, El Niño, a very young songwriter and pianist that performed in famous bands like “Revé”, until he decided to have his own timba band.

 

MUSIC: “JOSÉ LUIS CORTÉS Y NG LA BANDA”

Place: Casa de la Música Miramar, 11:00 pm

This band was founded by the flutist José Luis Cortés, El Tosco. He created the term timba, the most popular Cuban dance in the last two decades.

 

MUSIC: “IVETTE CEPEDA Y SU GRUPO REFLEXIÓN”

Ivette Cepeda plays different genres of music: son, jazz, bolero, bossa nova, and the fusion of them all. She recently recorded a video clip “Remedios” together with “Qva Libre”.

 

MUSIC: “VIEJA ESCUELA OR EDDY ESCOBAR”

La Vieja escuela is a rock band composed of Norwegian, Spanish and Cuban musicians. They alternate shows with Eddy Escobar. This band plays pop-rock covers of classic rock and roll bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, among others.

Small band formed by young musicians from Sancti-Spíritus that formerly played jazz. Nowadays, the band plays almost all genres of Cuban music, son, timba, ballads, boleros, salsa among others. Papucho, its director, represents the young soul of the band.

Waldo Mendoza is one of the most recognized contemporary Cuban singer and songwriters. He has become in these years a popular artist in Cuba for the special tone of his voice in the romantic song. He comes from the popular band Tumbao Habana.

Autodidact Songwriter and signer that integrated the rumba from the street and the one he learnt at the school in order to create his own style. He is the director of this popular timba band.

Band from Santiago that was called “Conjunto Sur Caribe” before 1987, year in which the maestro Ricardo Leyva Caballero took over the direction of the orchestra, and the band began to be identified as: Ricardo Leyva and Sur Caribe. Because of their particular style of defending popular Cuban, Caribbean and Latin American genres in a short time, these talented musicians gained recognition.

The members of the band have great musical versatility, they usually interpret both dance and concert themes. Alexander Abreu Manresa trumpet and leader voice, is also composer and musical director of the group.

Pedrito Calvo is a former singer of the prestigious salsa band Los Van Van. Some years ago he formed his own band and began his weekly show at Casa de la Música.

Roberto Carcassés is one of the best Cuban Jazz players. His band Interactivo has gained place in the interest of the young public.

This club was renovated years ago and now is showing a new theme, the characters of the movie Vampires in Havana. This new name, Pepito’s bar, is the name of the protagonist of the film, who represents a Cuban man.
